The Diplomatic Club organizes tourist trip  entitled “Syria is Fine”

Homs, (ST) – The Diplomatic Club in Syria organized yesterday a tourist trip to Homs Governorate and its countryside under the title “Syria is Fine.”

The trip included a visit to the Monastery of Saint George in Wadi Al-Nadara, the Cathedral of the Virgin Mary Umm Al-Zanar in the Al-Hamidiyah neighborhood, and the Khaled bin Al-Walid Mosque in Homs.

In a statement to SANA, the Head of the club, wife of the Libyan Chargé d’Affaires, Aya Bin Shaaban said that the aim of this trip is to get to know Homs and its archaeological and religious tourist attractions that indicate its antiquity and authenticity, and to show the fact that Syria is recovering, and that safety goes beyond the borders of the capital, Damascus and extends to the rest of the governorates, contrary to what the misleading media promotes and distorts the true image of it.

In turn, the wife of the Honorary Consul of Belgium, Rima Absi said that visiting archaeological sites in Syria and introducing the ancient history is a cultural heritage activity.

The wife of the Honorary Consul of Bangladesh, Nadia Rustom pointed out that the visit highlights security and safety in Syria and the ability to visit archaeological sites outside Damascus.

Zainab Hassan, the wife of a diplomat at the Bahraini embassy said: The signs of destruction and vandalism that affected buildings and infrastructure affected us, but we felt the return of normal life to the places we visited. She expressed her hope that Syria will return to what it was before the unjust terrorist war against it.

In Umm Al-Zinnar Cathedral, the Bishop Martinotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Syriac Orthodox Bishop of Homs, Hama, and Tartous affirmed that this visit expresses the countries’ love for the Syrian people and is an opportunity to tell the world about their aches and pains and the difficulties they face in the details of their daily life as a result of the unjust sanctions imposed on them.

Bishop Matta said that it is an opportunity to see the devastation that befell Syria as a result of the unjust war launched against it, but at the same time it is hope and hope in the heart of the cohesive Syrian society and human being. “This matter is embodied during the field visits and their presence in the city of Homs in more than one ancient area with an archaeological nature and even religious landmarks that this governorate enjoys”, he added.

He called on all countries to visit Syria and see its beauty.
