Israel Steals Antiquities of Gaza
What has Israel done with the antiquities of Gaza??There is overwhelming concern over the fate of thousands of antiquities collected over many years, after the Israeli occupation army took control of the warehouse in which these antiquities, dating back to different eras, are located.This concern increased when the deputy head of the Israeli Antiquities Authority arrived in Gaza to examine these antiquities.The Palestinians and despite their plight felt that the arrival of the deputy head of the Israeli Antiquities Authority meant only one thing-that the Israelis will now loot these artifacts in a further effort to erase the history of Palestine.This feeling was confirmed when on January 21, Director of the Israeli Occupation Antiquities Authority, Eli Esquisido, posted on his Instagram account a video clip showing a team headed by his deputy examining the warehouse located in Gaza City (north).He later on deleted the video.
The looted artifacts date back to periods ranging from before 3,000 years BC, to the seventh and eighth centuries AD, to the beginning of the early Islamic era.

The occupation army destroyed many archaeological monuments in the Old City of Gaza City,such as:The Pasha Palace Museum, the Omari Mosque, Hammam al-Samra, and other sites.
There are many archaeological sites in the Gaza Strip that are now at risk of extinction due to “erosion factors” and need urgent maintenance.
The theft and smuggling of antiquities does not exist in Gaza, because it is a besieged and closed city, but the theft of antiquities takes place from Israel.
