Pushkov: Protests in the United Nations against Israel’s war on Gaza have reached unprecedented levels
Chairman of the Federation Council’s Interim Commission on Information Policy and Cooperation with the Media Alexei Pushkov confirmed that the protests and demonstrations that took place in the United States against the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip have reached unprecedented levels.
The Russia Today website quoted Pushkov as saying: “There has never been such a scale of protests against policies related to Israel in the United States, which has provided unlimited support for it, and this is a qualitatively new phenomenon for the United States”.
Since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, regular protests have taken place in many American states and cities, denouncing the crimes of the Israeli entity against the Palestinians, and demanding the cessation of American military aid to it.
The most violent protests broke out at Columbia and Yale universities in the United States, where New York City police arrested at least 108 people during a pro-Palestine protest on the Columbia University campus. The American police also arrested dozens of demonstrators at Yale University yesterday morning.
Following the arrests in Colombia last week, pro-Palestinian protesters set up camps at other universities across the country, including the University of Michigan, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the University of North Carolina.
