Australian writer: The Israeli war of annihilation on Gaza proves the hypocrisy of the Western media and its misleading of the facts

Sydney – (ST)- The misleading Western media tools and the methods of hypocrisy and evasion from the truth followed by the major media machines in the United States and Europe are directly responsible for the continuation of the Israeli war of annihilation in the besieged Gaza Strip, according to Australian writer Caitlin Johnston. Manipulating the facts in favor of a specific party and turning a blind eye to the course of events is a main approach and a fixed agenda. It gave colonial and hegemonic powers the opportunity to wage wars and commit crimes without supervision.

In reference to the Western media’s bias towards the Israeli occupation entity and its misleading practices to cover up the genocidal crimes which it is committing in the Gaza Strip, Johnston said in an article published on the Medium platform: “The destruction of the besieged Gaza Strip proves that this media is nothing but mere nonsense, as it is very far from reporting Even a small portion of the facts, and the entity is keen to inject a false image that portrays the United States and its allies as defenders of freedoms, while in reality they are the ones who are  killing freedoms and democracy all over the world.”

Johnston added: “If the Western media had even partial credibility, Washington and its allies would not have supported Israel in the open war which is waging against civilians and  seized children  in Gaza.”

Johnston continued: “Washington could not turn a blind eye to the war of starvation, under which the Palestinians are suffering, especially as it speaks about freedoms and human rights at every opportunity, but in reality it supports such brutal practices in violation of international and humanitarian laws.”

Johnston explained that the Western media does not have any credibility and the allegations it publishes cannot be trusted, at a time when it covers up the horrific crimes committed by the Israeli occupation authorities daily against the Palestinians, and at a time when it suppresses the voices of American and Western journalists and anyone who tries to criticize the Israeli war of genocide or speaks out, “On the Western media’s complete bias towards the Israeli narrative.”

Among the most prominent evidence of the falsity of what the Western media presents, according to Johnston, is what was revealed by a general guidance document in the American newspaper The New York Times, in which the editorial department restricts its journalists’ coverage of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, and prohibits them from using words and terms that describe the facts on the ground, and exposes the crimes of the occupation. , including expressions such as genocide, ethnic cleansing, or even occupied Palestinian territories, which are far removed from the first basics of real media in conveying the facts.
