A pioneering project with national expertise supports the electricity system in Hasiya industrial city

Homs, (ST) – With national expertise, the first phase of producing 10 megawatts out of 60 megawatt-hour of electricity from solar energy was achieved in the industrial city in Hasiya to serve a project for a leading national company.

The General Director of the company executing the  “Al-Anwar solar energy projects” in the industrial zone in Hasiya, Dr. Wael Mansour, explained in a statement to a SANA reporter in Homs that what distinguishes the project is that it is being implemented, in all its stages, by Syrian engineers and technicians.

More than 480 workers and expert technicians are working in this project not to mention the workers in the national facilities that supply the project with locally manufactured materials.

About 40 workers are permanently employed in each phase of the project, amounting to a production capacity of 10 megawatts.

Dr. Mansour stated that the project, which includes 110,000 solar panels manufactured according to international standards, with a lifespan exceeding 25 years, aims to support the electrical network and generate solar energy using the latest international technologies.

Mansour pointed out that the company executing the Al-Anwar series of projects succeeded in completing the first phase, and the second phase will be completed on the 6th of May, which marks the anniversary of Martyrs’ Day, and the third phase will be completed marking the Army Day anniversary on the 1st of next August, and each phase of the project produces 10 megawatts, and the remaining 30 megawatts are in the stage of studies and designs and setting a time plan for implementation.
