Immediate International Action Urged to Release Syrians Kidnapped by Terrorist Groups

LATTAKIA- The Syrians continue to affirm their complete rejection of the organized terrorism and violence being practiced against them by international terrorism gangs and takfiris backed by the United States, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey.  

The issue of the citizens, kidnapped by foreign-backed armed terrorist groups in Syria, continues to be a source of worry to all the Syrians across the country.

The Lattakia Trust for National Principles on Saturday organized a popular campaign titled “Where Are Our Kidnapped”, to shed light on the issue of the kidnapped in Syria, particularly in the northern countryside of Lattakia where armed terrorist takfiri groups committed a horrible massacre and kidnapped many locals.  

In a statement issued on behalf of the participants, the Lattakia Trust said that “the kidnapped issue amounts to war crimes and crimes against humanity that shouldn’t go without punishment.”

“Perpetrators should be punished by international justice,” the statement said, condemning the deadly silence of the United Nations and human rights organizations regarding these crimes.

Participants in the campaign also condemned the inaction of the so-called “opposition” abroad towards the crimes of kidnapping, noting that this “opposition” doesn’t put the least pressure on its armed gangs to release the kidnapped.

They urged an immediate solution to this complicated issue in order to release all the kidnapped people in Syria, particularly in northern Lattakia countryside. 

Families of the kidnapped people, urged UN missions in Syria to act urgently and form a team to contact with kidnappers, stressing that the issue of the kidnapped is a public opinion question that comes within the framework of maintaining the UN-recognized and sponsored human rights.

Chairman of the Board of Lattakia Trust Husam Eddin Khalasi pointed out that the campaign aims at expressing the painful suffering of the families of the kidnapped and to send a message to the UN, which claims defending human rights, to act immediately to find a soon solution to this issue.

He referred to the efforts being exerted by the government and civil society associations to solve the file of the kidnapped in northern Lattakia countryside
