Cabinet: Evacuation of the French colonialism is a page of national glory and pride

Damascus, (ST) – The Presidency of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday affirmed in a statement that the 78th anniversary of the evacuation of the French colonialists and their defeat from the homeland is a page of national glory and pride that the grandfathers and fathers created with their pure blood and blessed sacrifices.

The statement clarified that the honorable sons of Syria, as they commemorate the seventy-eighth anniversary of the evacuation of the French colonialists from their homeland, draw inspiration from their ancestors, the meanings and connotations of Evacuation Day. They have been confronting, for more than 12 years, the colonial powers that have recruited their tools from terrorists and criminals of the era to target Syria, its people, and its capabilities.

The statement affirmed that the people of Syria continue today to offer what is dear and precious to preserve independence and independent national decision-making and to defeat terrorism and its supporters from the colonial powers that have invaded peoples, occupied countries and plundered their wealth, and today continue their aggression in multiple ways, disregarding international laws and agreements.

The statement also affirmed that today, through their sacrifices and confrontation of terrorism and its supporters, the Syrian people are preserving the legacy of their ancestors so that the flag of the homeland remains flying high and to preserve the sovereignty of the homeland and its independent decision. The resolve of the people of Syria is unwavering as they continue the path of their ancestors in confronting colonialism and its tools.

At the conclusion of its statement, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers directed a tribute of reverence and admiration to the souls of the martyrs of independence who wrote with their pure blood an honorable history that generations will be proud of, and which will remain a beacon and light illuminating the path to liberating every inch of our occupied land.
