Czech communist Party: Iran’s response to Israeli entity’s attack is self-defense

PRAGUE, Apr.16, (ST)- The head of the Czech Moravian Communist Party, Kateřina Konečná, has affirmed that the Israeli entity has turned international law into a mere document that is constantly being torn up through its practices and attacks, whether against Syria, Lebanon, or genocide in the Palestinian territories.

Konečná said in her tweet on X that the Israeli attack that targeted the Iranian consulate in Damascus last week is a flagrant violation of international law, noting that Iran’s response to this attack is legitimate and comes within the framework of self-defense.

For his part, the political advisor to the head of the Slovak government, Eduard Khmilar, described the positions of some leaders of Western countries towards the Iranian response to the Israeli aggression as “an expression of clear hypocrisy because they deliberately ignore the context in which this response came.”

He posted on social media: “”Israel” committed a heinous crime before this Iranian response by bombing the Iranian consulate in Damascus…. According to international law, this consulate cannot be touched and enjoys diplomatic immunity. Therefore, Tehran’s response is consistent with international law.”
