Cuba: The Iranian response to the Zionist attacks came after the Security Council failed to hold this entity accountable
Havana (ST) – Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the failure of the UN Security Council to respond decisively to the bombing of the Iranian consulate in Damascus was a factor that prompted Iran to respond to the Israeli entity.
“The attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus is a clear violation of international law and the Vienna Convention of 1961, endangers international peace and security, enhances the possibility of regionalizing the conflict, and threatens unpredictable consequences for world peace”, the Ministry stated.
The Ministry warned of the dangers of the Israeli entity’s impunity for what it practices against countries in the Middle East with the complicity and support of the United States government, stressing that there will be no peace and stability in the Middle East unless a comprehensive, just, and lasting solution is reached that guarantees the establishment of a Palestinian state.
The Ministry called for an end to the escalation of violence in the Middle East region, and what this requires is an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip that puts an end to the genocide being committed against the Palestinian people, stressing that Cuba will always stand by peace, justice, and respect for international law.
