Syrian Embassy in Lebanon affirms keenness on fraternal relations between Syria and Lebanon

Beirut- The Syrian Embassy in Lebanon has affirmed its keenness on the fraternal relations between Syria and Lebanon, condemning the crime committed against a Lebanese citizen and regretting the aggressive reactions by some Lebanese citizens against the Syrians in Lebanon which contradict the fraternal relations between the two countries and harm the dignity of the Lebanese and Syrian citizens.

In a statement on Friday,  the Syrian embassy in Lebanon said that it is following up on the affairs of the Syrian citizens present in Lebanon in coordination with the Lebanese authorities in a way that preserves the fraternal relations between the peoples of the two countries.

In this regard, the embassy reaffirmed Syria’s position on the displacement issue, pointing out that Syria has encouraged the return of its citizens, who were displaced due to terrorism, to their homeland, and that it is sparing no effort to facilitate this return. The embassy clarified that the Lebanese government is aware of this matter, stressing that what hinders the return of the Syrians to their country is the politicization of the refugee file by donor countries and some international organizations concerned with the file of displaced persons and refugees, as well as the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people, the negative effects of which involve the peoples of the two countries.

The embassy appreciated the Lebanese government and authorities’ cooperation, hailing the national positions that have called for rejecting incitement against Syrian citizens. It stressed Syria’s keenness on Lebanon’s security and stability and on cooperation with the Lebanese agencies to hand over those wanted by both sides.
