Rights groups file a new lawsuit against the export of German weapons to the Israeli occupation entity

European lawyers and human rights activists have confirmed that the German government’s decision to export three thousand anti-tank weapons to the Israeli occupation entity constitutes a serious violation of international humanitarian law, announcing the filing of a new lawsuit to stop the German decision.

Wolfgang Kaleck, secretary general of the European Centre for constitutional and Human Rights, said: “Germany exports weapons to Israel, which commits serious violations of international humanitarian law in its war on Gaza.”

According to the lawsuit, the center’s lawyers and human rights organizations asked the Berlin administrative court to suspend export licenses as a temporary legal protection measure.

This lawsuit is the second case filed this month because of Berlin’s support for “Israel” in its aggression on the Gaza Strip.

It is noteworthy that lawyers in Berlin submitted last week an urgent appeal to stop arms exports to” Israel ” because they are used in ways that violate international humanitarian law in the Gaza Strip.

The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute confirmed that Germany is the second largest exporter of weapons to “Israel” after the United States, contributing to 30 percent of its imports between 2019 and 2023.

Berlin is facing a complaint before the International Court of Justice filed by Nicaragua against it for violating the convention on the prevention and punishment of the crime of genocide concluded after the Nazi Holocaust, by continuing to export weapons to the Israeli occupation entity.
