Antonov: The Pentagon’s statements about defeating Russia mean more escalation

Moscow (ST) – The Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov considered that the statements of Pentagon officials about inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia carry a warning of further escalation.

Sputnik quoted Antonov as saying: “The American administration needs to abandon irresponsible statements that entail the risk of unpredictable escalation.”

He stressed that the American officials encourage the Kiev regime to commit new crimes.

“The strong victories of the Russian forces on the front lines indicate that the Americans lost in the war and failed in their attempt to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia”, Antonov added.
