Defense Minister visits army formations, congratulates officers and soldiers on Eid Al-Fitr  

Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, Defense Minister, Major Gen. Ali Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday visited an army formation operating in the coastal region and met with field commanders and conveyed to them President Bashar al-Assad’s greetings and best wishes of health and success on Eid Al-Fitr.

Maj. Gen. Abbas was briefed by field commanders on the missions carried out by the army formation in coastal region.

He hailed the heroism and sacrifices of the soldiers at all fronts, which proved the soldiers’ efficiency and courage in confronting the challenges and dangers.

For their part, the fighters affirmed their loyalty to their homeland, stressing their readiness to confront any attack on the security and stability of the nation.

Maj. Gen, Abbas also visited the Tishreen Military Hospital and met with the wounded. He congratulated them on Eid Al-Fitr, wishing them and their families good health.

On this occasion, military commanders visited the martyrs’ cemeteries and placed wreaths at memorials. They also visited the wounded personnel and at military hospitals and congratulated them on Eid Al-Fitr.
