National Reconciliation in Babbila a Message to Entire World that Solution Can Only Be Produced in Syria
DAMASCUS COUNTRYSIDE- The people of the Damascus southern suburbs of Babbila, Beit Sahm, Yalda and Aqraba on Monday announced the attainment of national reconciliation thanks to blessed and sincere popular efforts which marked the end of a difficult era and a bitter suffering the people of these areas experienced over the past two years because of the armed terrorist groups acts of destruction, killing and displacement.
Motivated by the Syrians’ love to the homeland, the move will hopefully be followed by further reconciliations nationwide.
Many misled Syrians, who have become aware that the terrorist mercenaries seek the destruction of the Syrian state, have turned themselves in to the Syrian Arab Army to later be hand in hand with the army in defense of the homeland against colonialist agendas.
One can notice the happiness of the displaced families while returning to their areas after they fled the atrocities of the terrorists.
The services teams of Damascus countryside governorate were keen to remove the ruins and open the roads to facilitate the movement of the locals.
“We moved from a world full fear and terror into a world full of security,” said Farah, a school student, stressing that now she can return to her school in Babbila safely.
“I felt that I would die at any moment, but now security retuned and I wish we would love each other to protect our homeland Syria,” Farah added.
The attained national reconciliation in Beit Sahm was also a source of great happiness for Faraj al-Nimr, who along with his family, was displaced from his house. He said: “I’m really happy for returning home under the protection of the Syrian Arab Army to live together in the atmosphere of amity and security we missed over the past three years”.
One of the locals said bitterly that if only this reconciliation had been attained two years ago, the Syrians would have saved too much blood.
Sheikh Anas al-Taweel from Beit Sahm described the attained reconciliation as “a message to the entire world stressing that the Syrians are able to solve their crisis themselves and that the solution can only be produced inside Syria”.
“We won’t allow those, who have exported terrorism to Syria to destroy the country, to shed more Syrian blood,” he added, urging the Syrian families who sought refuge in neighboring countries to return to Syria, the example of amity and fraternity throughout history.
Outside the building of the Judicial Council in Babbila, Governor of Damascus Countryside Hussein Makhlouf told journalists “this reconciliation is the fruit of sincere efforts by the Syrian honest locals the Syrian army and the national defense forces.”
Makhlouf stressed that the governorate’s services teams are ready to meet all the requirements of the people of Babbila, Beit Sahm and Yalda including electricity, health care, and food.
He pointed out that all Damascus countryside areas, which experienced the crisis, are thirsty for restoring amity and tolerance among their locals.
The role played by national and religious figures in national reconciliation also can’t be ignored.
Faeq Tawfeek al-Obeidi, Deputy Secretary General of Arab Tribes and Clans Council, has played an active role in this reconciliation.
Obeidi affirmed that restoring national cohesion and solving the crisis in Syria can’t be attained except by the Syrians themselves, pointing out that this reconciliation was the fruit of unstopped popular efforts over the past seven months aiming to restore security to the targeted areas.
