Damascus- “Making solutions to our problems is an accumulative process in which dialogue plays a key role as it leads to the right visions and policies,” President Bashar Al-Assad said during his meeting on Sunday with Baathist professors of economics.
“Dialogue cannot be productive at the level of major economic, social and political issues unless it is systematic, comprehensive and continuous at the level of society, institutions and media, and between various segments and sectors, and unless it is supported by a scientific, practical, and academic mind,” President Al-Assad added.
President Al-Assad’s dialogue with the professors focused on the required identity of the Syrian economy, on the required socialism, on the policies of support, on the policies of development and economic growth and on the public sector and its role in the state and its partnership with the private sector to revive production.
The dialogue highlighted the role of the Baath Party as a ruling party versus the role of the government, in drawing up and implementing the policies.
President Al-Assad affirmed that government support can only be useful when it is dealt with as being part of the economy, pointing out that support is necessary, but it should be provided in a different mechanism.
