Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – The Media office in Gaza revealed that 18 were martyred as a result of aid being dropped from planes, stressing the necessity of stopping this method that threatens the lives of the people of the Gaza Strip and opening land crossings to bring in aid.
The office said in a statement on Tuesday: During the past hours, 18 Palestinians were martyred due to incorrect landings of aid from planes, including 12 who drowned in the sea off the northern Gaza Strip, where dozens of hungry people entered the sea to obtain aid dropped by planes inside it, which caused the martyrdom of 12 Palestinians.
“6 others were also martyred as a result of the stampede in more than one place, as they were trying to obtain aid that was dropped by planes incorrectly, also in light of the ongoing famine, as aid landing operations from planes have become a real danger to the lives of hungry citizens”, the office added.
The office said: “We have always warned all countries that carry out air drops of aid of the danger of their incorrect procedures, because part of this aid is thrown into the sea, part of it is thrown into the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948, and another part is thrown into dangerous areas, endangering the lives of hungry citizens. It is extremely dangerous, and the same scenario is being repeated”.
The office called for an end to the operations of delivering aid in this offensive and wrong manner. It demanded that land crossings be opened immediately and quickly in order to bring humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people who are suffering from hunger and severe food shortages for the sixth month in a row.
The office expressed its denunciation and condemnation of the crime of closing the crossings, the war crime of starvation and unjust siege, and the war crime of genocide and ethnic cleansing, which the Israeli occupation continues to commit against Palestinian people.
The office called on international organizations to carry out their assigned role, and all countries of the world, to condemn the crime of genocide committed by the occupation with all brutality, and to move out of the box of condemnations, denunciations, and silence, and to play a practical role to stop the policy of starvation, open the crossings immediately, and stop the continuing massacres against civilians, children, and women.
