Guterres: UNRWA is the lifeline in Gaza Strip

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has stressed that the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) is the lifeline in Gaza Strip, calling on the countries that stopped funding it to retract their position.

” The only way to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza Strip is ceasefire, Wafa Agency quoted Guterres as reiterating in a press statement on Monday.

He pointed out that the United Nations is committed to strengthening UNRWA and determined to continue its work, as it is the lifeline in the Strip.

Guterres renewed his warning that the Israeli ground invasion of the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, would lead to a humanitarian catastrophe.
