Heritage Crafts Market at the Dummar Central Incubator is a platform to support artisans  

The creation of the Heritage Crafts Market at the Dummar Central Incubator for Traditional Arts aims to help artisans whose workshops and works have been damaged by the war on Syria, as it secures the place and work requirements for them, promotes and markets their products, and helps them to continue these crafts and transmit them for generations.

The Head of the General Union of Artisans, Naji al-Hadwah, stressed the need to support the Heritage Market and the Dummar Incubator, through creating Craft Incubators in all governorates.  He spoke about the Union of Craftsmen’s support for the Dammar Central Incubator and its continuous modernization in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism. It provides qualified workplaces for artisans to help them qualify, train, produce and market all Syrian artisan products.

Adnan Tanbakji, the sheikh of the copper and plastic arts , who explained in a statement to SANA that the transfer of craftsmen from the Sulaymaniyah Tekiya to Dummar Incubator, helped to compete and harmonize  crafts through workshops that form small and micro-enterprises.

Other craftsmen consider  the idea of gathering craftsmen at the incubator facilitates the marketing process, holding exhibitions, offering the venue and power holders.

“The Traditional Market is a platform that contributes to the protection of traditional crafts from extinction, the preservation of ancestral heritage, and achieves the exchange of cultures between artisans.” They confirmed.

The Heritage Incubator covers an area of 1273 square meters and has 61 handicrafts, a training hall, a product showroom and a heritage coffee shop, and currently accommodates 42 artisans as a first stage, as well as craftsmen in the Central Dammar Incubator.
