President Al-Assad on Teachers’ Day: “If the education sector is well the country is well”

Marking  Teachers’ Day, President Bashar Al-Assad and First Lady Asma Al-Assad on Wednesday met with teachers who have spent nearly four decades in teaching.

“You are the holders of the message of enlightenment, ethics and knowledge and the memory of the nation,” President Al-Assad said addressing the teachers.

“If the education sector is well the country is well,” the president stressed.

For her part, Mrs. Asma Al-Assad said “education and teaching go hand in hand, each carrying a noble mission: the empowerment of individuals”.

‏ “Staying true to your mission means staying true to your identity and your country,” Mrs. Asma pointed out.
