Mental health campaign in Tartous schools

The Directorate of Education of Tartus, through the Departments of Research and School Health, implemented the mental health campaign in Tartus schools, opening its activities on Sunday  10th March at Shadinisafi School.A second workshop was held in the presence of the head of the research department, Dr. Maya Barakat, and school health Dr. ZiadSafia.The campaign includes promoting the mental health of school students, providing awareness and psychological education on the topics of depression, anxiety, addiction, and violence according to a specific plan to support mental health.

The campaign is supervised by the joint team of the school research and health departments at Shadinisafi school, consisting of the head of the extension division, Lauren Suleiman, Dr. MadinKhader, Rania Suleiman, Maysa Ahmed and Lamis NassifAnd Darren Jabour .

It is noteworthy that the campaign in Tartus includes 14 teams, each team includes a school health doctor, two health educators and psychological or social counselors, and lasts for 20 days.

This campaign comes within  the cooperation plan between the Ministry of education and the mental health program at the World Health Organization and in continuation of  promoting the mental health of school students.
