Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – Hundreds of tents, sheltering thousands of displaced people were flooded or blown away, as a result of the strong winds and heavy rains in different areas of the Gaza Strip.
Wafa News Agency reported that the rains and winds that blew on the northern areas of Gaza Strip and the western areas of Deir Al-Balah in the center of Gaza Strip, and Rafah and the Al-Mawasi area in Khan Yunis in the south caused hundreds of tents to flood or to blow away. These tents houses thousands of displaced people who spent the night outdoors in the harsh cold and heavy rain including children and women the elderly and the sick.
The displaced people called on the UN and international bodies to provide shelter centers for them in light of the difficult conditions and the war that the Israeli occupation is waging against the Gaza Strip for the 165th day.
The genocidal war caused the displacement of 2 million out of 2.4 million Palestinians in Gaza Strip, as they left their homes to escape the occupation bombing and took refuge in tents and shelter centers, becoming prey to cold, hunger and thirst.
The United Nations warns that half of Gaza’s population is suffering from catastrophic hunger, and that famine is striking the northern Gaza Strip in the absence of any urgent international intervention to prevent this.
