Iraqi President affirms to the Syrian Ambassador his country’s support for security and stability in Syria

Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid and the Syrian Ambassador in Baghdad Sattam Jad’an on Sunday discussed means to enhance Syrian-Iraqi cooperation.

The press office of the Iraqi Presidency said in a statement that President Rashid affirmed the importance of boosting and expanding bilateral ties in a way that serve the mutual interests of the two countries.

Rashid reaffirmed his country’s support for perpetuating security, stability and peace in Syria in a way that achieves prosperity for the Syrian people.

Rashid reiterated Iraq’s support for the Palestinian cause, for stopping the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza and for restoring the Palestinian people’s rights including the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

For his part, Al-Dandah asserted Syria’s keenness on reactivating joint action in the service of the higher interest and the two countries and peoples.
