Al-Mikdad, bin Farhan discuss consolidating cooperation to confront challenges facing the Arab region

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad and his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan held talks on Thursday in Riyadh on ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries as well as developments in the region.

Al-Mikdad stressed the need to strengthen relations between Syria and Saudi Arabia at various levels in a way that serves the interests of the two countries and their people.

He reiterated the importance of coordination and consultation in a way that contributes to strengthening joint Arab action and cooperation to find solutions to the challenges facing the Arab region, especially in Gaza and the rest of the occupied Palestinian territories, whose people are facing genocide, a stifling siege, starvation and mass displacement by the Israeli occupation entity.

The two ministers focused on Syria’ efforts to follow up on the work of the Arab Liaison Committee on Syria and to prepare well for the next meeting of the Liaison Committee, which will be held in Baghdad.

Earlier in the day, Al-Mikdad and the accompanying delegation arrived in the Saudi Capital for a work visit.
