Lebanon intends to submit a complaint to the Security Council about the ongoing Israeli attacks on its territory

Beirut -(ST)- Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the Lebanese caretaker government Abdullah Bouhabib instructed the competent departments in the ministry to submit a complaint before the UN Security Council following a series of Israeli attacks, which are considered the most violent on the 11th and 12th of this month that targeted civilians in residential areas around the city of Baalbek and neighboring villages, which led to the loss of victims and wounded civilians and unarmed civilians.

The Lebanese Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday: “What causes more concern is that this escalation occurs in areas far from the southern Lebanese border, which indicates Israel’s desire to expand the conflict and drag the entire region into a war that may be sparked by such aggressive actions.” “It is turning into a regional war that the Israeli government is pursuing as a lifeline to get out of its internal impasse.” The ministry called on the international community to put pressure on “Israel” to stop its ongoing and escalating attacks on Lebanon.

The Ministry called for members of the Security Council to collectively condemn the Israeli attacks against Lebanon, and to work to fully implement Security Council Resolution 1701 of 2006 in order to achieve permanent stability and protect Lebanon’s south borders.
