Coalition delegation: puppets

It is very difficult to achieve tangible progress in any round of talks aimed to resolve the crisis in Syria peacefully as long as the coalition delegation called opposition takes instructions from the former US ambassador to Syria Robert Ford and other enemies of Syrian people who want to achieve a certain agenda in the region represented by putting an end to the axis of resistance against Israel by destroying Syria, the beating heart of this axis, and enabling Israel to penetrate the Arab region to achieve their political and economic interests. The foreign-backed coalition does not represent the people of Syria as it is basically acting as a proxy of the United States, its European and regional allies and Israel. The foreign-backed Syrian opposition groups have no support on the ground. The opposition platform on the ground is very weak. So if they come over to the country where they have weak platform, they will end up creating conflict and there will be frightful war again and the infrastructure will collapse. The essential, big problem in the search for a political solution through Geneva track lies in the fact we don’t know whom representing those who came by the name of opposition, how many, and what is their relation to Syria. Those who are representing the opposition in Switzerland are merely the handpicked puppets of the United States and its allies. They act as if they are representing the Syrian people, when in fact they do not represent themselves. They represent the interests of the United States and Israel in the first place. The so-called opposition claims to be the representative of the Syrian nation, but in reality, they did not represent the interests of the Syrian people. Even the coalition itself is not represented in the delegation because more than fifty members rejected the talks.

The prospects of the Geneva talks on Syria are not tangible as long as the opposition is unwilling to come together against terrorism and against the foreign elements that are financing this war on Syria.

The so-called opposition was instructed to focus on one item of the Geneva Communiqué namely a transitional government be formed in Syria. They were ordered by the former US ambassador to Syria Robert Ford to leave all other issues and focus on the transitional body with the aim of foiling the Geneva talks and creating chaos in Syria. By so doing, the US and Israel achieve their agenda in Syria, which aims to undermine the axis of resistance against Israel, destroy Syria and enable Israel to invade the Arab region politically and economically.

The coalition delegation of the so-called ‘opposition’ does not have a nationalistic sense; rather it represented a group of agents that work for foreign powers. It does not get along with the core of Geneva. But the Syrian official delegation expressed readiness to discuss all aspects of Geneva I while the other delegation showed decadency and lied to the Syrian people. The delegation of puppets shoulders the responsibility of non-reaching any outcomes, having rejected the axiomatic principles of Syria’s unity, independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and working for restoring the occupied territories.

On the other hand, the Syrian official delegation went to Geneva to make the conference a success through halting the bloodshed, preventing foreign interference and combating terrorism. The conference constitutes an opportunity for Syria to express the reality of the events taking place for three years. The coalition delegation called opposition claimed that the official Syrian delegation did not recognize the Geneva I Communiqué, but in fact the Syrian delegation did not evade discussing Geneva1 Communiqué at all. They stressed that they will discuss it starting from the first point, i.e. violence and terrorism cessation, and then they will move to the other points.

The so-called opposition delegation came to Geneva only for one item, which is the transitional body, but Syrian people will not allow any side to choose Syria’s leadership or future on behalf of them. The coalition delegation called the opposition rejected to condemn terrorism which kills the Syrians and devastates their country. The coalition delegation of the so-called “opposition” came to Geneva with presuppositions based on incorrect data and on personal grudges against the state, not based on a political opposition program.

During the talks in Geneva, the coalition did not present any political vision or program, nor did it show any sense of responsibility, as from the first moment they wanted to discuss the transitional governing body, acting in subordination to those who think for them, which caused them to suffer intellectual poverty, and thus created a massive rift in performance between them and the Syrian official delegation.

The Syrian official delegation specified the priorities of patriotism such as Syria’s independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, rejecting foreign interference, and rejecting terrorism and violence. These points, which were supposed to represent common denominators before going in-depth, were rejected by the coalition delegation of the so-called opposition. The coalition delegation rejected all papers presented by the Syrian Arab Republic delegation before even reading them, let alone discussing them, and this was a test of the honesty of their intentions and their readiness to engage in dialogue. The Syrian official delegation is facing an opposition of political immorality which acted as was asked of it, not a national opposition with a political program serving the Syrian people.

The Geneva communiqué is an eight-step track, the first one of which is halting violence which means stopping terrorism, and therefore one cannot jump over principles. The official delegation showed readiness to discuss Geneva communiqué an item by an item starting from stopping terrorism, but the coalition delegation called / opposition/ insisted to discuss the 8th item, but it was unable to hide its endeavour to have authority by all means. The coalition delegation of the so-called “opposition” was trying to earn media points, not negotiation points, meaning that the delegation was trying to exploit the humanitarian aspect of the crisis in the media in order to go out to the public opinion and claim that it earned a specific point over the Syrian official delegation.   The Syrian delegation is ready to discuss any issue, but according to the logical sequence and according to priorities, and in the presence of a representation of a wide spectrum of the national opposition and other groups in order to reach full national consensus which doesn’t exclude anyone. The national opposition was excluded from Geneva 2 because the other side doesn’t really want a transitional governing body; rather it wants to rule no matter at what cost, which is amateur talk as it’s impossible to create a vacuum then fill it with the press of a button for the US and its allies.

The coalition delegation wanted to undermine the talks or embarrass the Syrian official delegation via cheap provocation, lack of manners, or posing absurd ideas that would drive the Syrian official delegation to withdraw, but this backfired on them.

The Syrian official delegation came to Geneva with an open mind, an open heart and with very clear instructions to cooperate with all spectra of the opposition to cut off foreign interference, stop terrorism and violence, and build Syria in the way that all the Syrians want.

The coalition delegation made the wrong bet that its allies will hand it power within a month or two, and in fact it doesn’t want a solution for the crisis in Syria; rather it wants to exhaust Syria’s energies, something which the so-called Arab League is also involved in attempting.

The United States was clear – through the comments of its President Barack Obama, State Secretary John Kerry, and Robert Ford – that it wanted to disrupt the meeting and that it’s not pursuing a peaceful political solution; rather it wants to pressure the Syrian government. The US statements are outside the framework of the first Geneva meeting and run contrary to the Russian-US agreement. The US cannot be a fireman on one side and a pyromaniac on the other side by arming terrorists in Syria. The United States have to understand matters correctly, refrain from being reckless in its policies, and stop interfering in Syria’s internal affairs.

Israel’s involvement in the crisis in Syria is crystal clear and this requires condemnation by each national, honest Syrian, this issue was absent in the statements of the coalition delegation called / opposition/ whether inside or outside the meetings.

The delegation of the Syrian Arab republic put the interests of the Syrian people and the halt of terrorism, backed by Arab, regional and international countries, as a priority in the political field. Syria’s official delegation was open to Geneva communiqué items, hoping to find a common ground for a Syrian-Syrian political solution that meets the aspirations of the Syrian people, on top of which, combating terrorism. Members of the official Syrian delegation presented an example of national cooperation, aiming at pushing the coalition delegation called / opposition/ to abandon their dreams and illusions and think realistically about the Syrian people and their suffering from terrorism, but in vain. The coalition delegation called / opposition / is confused and doesn’t know why it is in Geneva, but Syria’s official delegation is aware of what it wants; which is ending the war and halting bloodshed in Syria. The first step to stop this war is to pressure on Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar and other countries to oblige them stop arming, training and sending terrorists to Syria. Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey are directly involved in supporting terrorism in Syria. Saudi officials admitted openly to this, with them spending billions and running operations rooms in Turkey and Jordan for smuggling weapons and terrorists into Syria. Turkey and Qatar were the spearhead in the terrorist war against Syria before Saudi Arabia shouldered this mission. These countries work with the orders of the US and the Brotherhood Government of Erdogan has behaved with a new Ottoman mentality.  Arming extremists, who are penetrating into Syria from all sides, are causing havoc. Instability is dangerous not just for Syria but also for the region.

The political solution to the humanitarian file in Syria lies in the stop of the terrorist war against the Syrian people, holding those who finance, arm and support terrorism in Syria responsible for the suffering of the Syrians. The terrorists take the civilians as human shields, trafficking with their lives and sufferings.  The US latest decision to resume the arming of terrorists in Syria was not new, but the decision’s announcement at the time of holding Geneva 2 conference is the new issue. The US doesn’t want to tell the world that its wagers in Syria have failed, as the US is interested in the image rather than reality and it tries to search for specific exits for this issue, but the firm conviction at the US now is that it will not be able to impose its vision on Syria, so it turns a blind eye on Saudi Arabia which finances terrorism in Syria. Those attempts will fail because the supportive effort to terrorism in Syria is synchronized with accelerating reconciliations on the Syrian lands and with a special change in the mentality of the Syrians.

The Syrian people must decide about their country’s destiny, and foreign-backed opposition and their masters should not impose their view about which government should run the country.
