Homs – (ST)- The “Ramadan…Share Goodness” campaign was launched yesterday, organized by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in coordination and cooperation with a number of ministries, institutions, governorates and non-governmental organizations, during the holy month of Ramadan.
Director of Social Affairs and Labor, Ismail Khalil, said in a statement a SANA reporter that the goal of the campaign is to unify charitable work efforts during Ramadan. Iftar and suhoor meals and various baskets are distributed in Homs throughout the holy month, prepared by Ramadan kitchens belonging to more than fifteen associations, some of which have licensed charitable kitchens, Khalil added, pointing out that the baskets are distributed according to databases for those registered in each association and for the most needy groups.
Khalil stated that, on the first day of the holy month, under the supervision of the Directorate, the Karim Charity Association distributed 75 breakfast meals to juveniles detained in the Juvenile Delinquent Observation Center in Homs, and the Al-Birr and Social Services Association distributed 67 food baskets and 22 breakfast meals.
Youssef Shadoud, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the “Steadfast Despite the Wounds” Association, said that the mothers in the association’s team prepare a daily dose of goodness for the orphans, the poor, and the needy from the donations of charitable people and the volunteer team members distribute the iftar meals. 70 breakfast meals were distributed on the first and second days of Ramadan and the same quantities are being prepared in the kitchen of the mothers of the martyrs and the wounded at the headquarters of the association, he added.
