The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) Philippe Lazzarini affirmed that the Israeli occupation authorities banned the entry of critical humanitarian aid into the stricken Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to continuous aggression for 158 days.
Lazarini said in a post on X platform according to Wafa Agency :” All residents of Gaza depend on humanitarian aid to survive, but very little comes and restrictions increase,” noting that the occupation prohibited the entry of medical aid into Gaza Strip, including Ventilators and cancer medications. It also returned an aid truck for scissors used in medical kits for children.
In turn, the spokesman for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Ricardo Perez, stressed that he “does not find appropriate words to describe the atrocities to which the children of Gaza are being exposed due to famine,” noting that children are the group most affected by the catastrophe of famine and malnutrition in the Gaza Strip.
Perez called for an end to the nightmare that the residents in Gaza are experiencing, and for the necessity of an immediate ceasefire in the Strip.
UNICEF said in a previous statement: “Gaza has become a graveyard for thousands of children. It is a living hell for everyone, as more than 80 percent of children in Gaza suffer from severe food poverty”.
