Palestinian Foreign Ministry: The occupation’s expansion of settlements in the West Bank is a blatant challenge to international law

Occupied Al-Quds (ST) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirmed that the Israeli occupation’s continued expansion of its settlement plans in the West Bank eliminates any chance of establishing an independent Palestinian state.

The Ministry condemned on Monday the settlement expansion plans, the most recent of which was the establishment of two settlement outposts north of Jericho and in the northern Jordan Valley.

It stressed that this represents a blatant challenge to international law and UN Resolution 2334, which confirms the illegality of settlements.

The Ministry indicated that the failure of the international community and the Security Council in stopping the war of genocide waged against the Palestinian people in Gaza encourages the occupation to continue its colonial plans throughout the Palestinian territories.
