Syria and Russia enjoy deeply rooted bilateral ties that must be strengthened through exchanging experiences in various fields, especially the parliamentary field, to serve the interests of the two countries, Speaker of People’s Assembly Hammouda Sabbagh stressed during his meeting on Sunday with member of Russian Federal Assembly Konstantin Basyuk, accompanied by the Head of Russian-Syrian Business Council Louay Youssef.
Sabbagh hailed Russia’s stances in support of Syria and its just causes, as the two countries confront one enemy and fight one battle in order to eliminate terrorism.
For his part, Basyuk stressed that Russia is interested in developing relations with Syria in the parliamentary and other fields, especially in the four provinces that recently joined the Russian Federation.
