US Congresswoman criticizes her country’s announcement of airdropping aid to Gaza while it continues its military support for “Israel”

U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal has criticized the US administration’s talk about airdropping aid to people in Gaza Strip, while it continues to provide military assistance to the Israeli entity.

Interviewed by the US “CNN” news network, Jayabal asked what airdropping US aid on Gaza Strip means while the United States is considered the biggest military financier of “Israel”. She stressed the need to make a shift in the American policy soon in order to ensure that humanitarian aid enter Gaza immediately.

Jayabal has repeatedly called for ceasefire in Gaza, prisoners swap and aid delivery to the people in Gaza Strip.

For his part, US Representative Jim McGovern also highlighted the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, urging President Biden to ensure aid reaches the region.

McGovern pointed out that under the Foreign Assistance Act and Arms Export Control Act, US law states that no aid should be given to any country directly or indirectly restricting the delivery of US humanitarian assistance, which “Israel” is currently doing in Gaza.

UN experts have said that Israel is intentionally starving Gaza and preventing aid trucks from entering the besieged strip. Millions are on the brink of famine, they stressed.

On Friday, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the right to food Michael Fakhri described the American proposal to establish a sea pier on Gaza coast to deliver “humanitarian aid” to Gaza via sea as “malicious,” recalling that the United States is at the same time providing bombs, ammunition, and financial support to “Israel.”
