Representatives of the Syrian and Cuban Chambers of Commerce held a virtual video meeting in the presence of the ambassadors of both countries to discuss ways to activate trade and economic exchange between the two countries.
The parties called for the elimination of all obstacles and difficulties and the upgrading of trade relations to the excellent and historic level of political relations between the two countries, stressing the need to overcome the unilateral sanctions imposed by the United States and to break the embargo against trade through mutual cooperation.
The parties stressed the importance of exchanging trade delegations, increasing participation in economic events in the two countries and attending international exhibitions in Havana and Damascus, and accelerating the signing of the compensatory barter agreement and other bilateral agreements for increasing trade and economic trade between the two countries.
They expressed their optimism at achieving greater business cooperation, and called for exchanges of visits to entrepreneurs to learn more about each country’s possibilities and needs.
During the meeting, it was also agreed to study the proposals and work for the formation of joint committees or the Syrian-Cuban Businessmen’s Council.
