The Central Leadership of the Baath Party: March 8 Revolution a turning point in Syria’s history

Damascus (ST) – Marking the 61st Anniversary of March 8 Revolution, the Central Leadership of the Baath Arab Socialist Party affirmed that the history of Syria witnessed a qualitative turning point after March 8 Revolution of 1963.

The Party Leadership stated that the Baath Party expressed the deep-rooted feeling of the Syrians that independence is not just a flag, borders, and a seat in the UN, rather, it is the independence of choice and decision, which has been achieved after the revolution through the Correction Movement in 1970.

The statement stressed that the unprecedented war in contemporary history, launched by the enemies of independence collectively against Syria, is evidence that Syria has built a qualitative independence, and that the forces of hegemony, terrorism and Zionism felt the dangers of this independence to their ambitions in the region, while the Syrian people, army and leader, felt proud, self-confident and stronger in the face of the harshest types of wars.
