Brazilian President: What is happening in Gaza is a genocidal war and Security Council must take an immediate action to stop it

The Brazilian president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva affirmed that what is happening in Gaza is a genocidal war, stressing the need for the UN Security Council to take an immediate action to stop the continuous Israeli aggression for the 152nd day.

Da Silva said during a press conference that the recent horrific and brutal images in Gaza confirm that what is happening is a genocide that claimed the lives of more than 30.500 Palestinians, most of whom are women and children, calling for an immediate ceasefire and facilitating the arrival of humanitarian aid.

In turn, South Africa called on the International Court of Justice to impose new emergency measures on the occupying entity due to the widespread famine occurring in Gaza Strip as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression since the 7th of last October.

Pretoria explained that its request may be the last opportunity available to this court to save the Palestinian people in the stricken Strip, who are dying of hunger and are now one step away from famine.
