Representatives to the UN General Assembly: The Israeli occupation targets UNRWA buildings in Gaza in preparation for its termination

New York, (ST) – The Lebanese representative to the United Nations affirmed that the Israeli occupation entity is directly targeting the UNRWA buildings with no respect for international laws, in order to make the Gaza Strip unviable in preparation for ending the establishment of the Palestinian state and ending the work of UNRWA.

During a session of the UN General Assembly on Monday regarding the UNRWA, the Lebanese representative renewed his call for an immediate ceasefire, the rapid entry of aid, and the continuation of support to UNRWA until the establishment of the Palestinian state and the return of the refugees to their homes.

For his part, the Tunisian representative to the UN stressed the seriousness of the humanitarian situation in the Strip in light of the continued Israeli aggression for about 5 months and its daily massacres against the Palestinians.

He condemned the international silence regarding the occupation’ targeting of UNRWA, and the failure to provide protection for the Palestinian people, calling on donor countries to return and reverse their decision to stop funding UNRWA.

The Tunisian representative renewed his country’s position in supporting the Palestinian people until they establish their independent state with Al-Quds as its capital.
