Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has stressed that civilians, particularly children and workers in the health sector in Gaza need urgent help.
In a post on X on Monday, Ghebreyesus warned of the severe malnutrition in Gaza and of the destruction of hospitals, noting the horrifying scenes of children dying of starvation, amid dire shortages of food, fuel and medicines.
“The lack of food resulted in the deaths of 10 children,” Tedros said.
In all, the Gaza health ministry has said at least 16 children have died of malnutrition in aid-deprived northern Gaza.
