Syria and the UAE strengthen relations at parliamentary level

During his meeting yesterday with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to Damascus Hassan Ahmed Al-Shehhi, Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hammouda Sabbagh stressed the strength and depth of Syrian-Emirati relations, emphasizing the need to strengthen these relations and benefit from mutual experiences as well as joint efforts, especially at the parliamentary level.

Sabbagh highlighted the UAE’s continuous humanitarian support to Syria and the formation of the UAE National Council for the Emirati-Syrian Parliamentary Friendship Committee, which will push relations forward.

For his part, Ambassador Al-Shehhi stressed that he will work hard to develop UAE-Syria relations at all levels, indicating that his country pays great attention to its relations with Arab countries, strengthening joint Arab action, and supporting security and stability in all Arab states.

The Emirati ambassador explained that Syria has a special priority for the UAE, expressing his optimism for the development of bilateral relations in a way that contributes to achieving the interests of the two countries and the region in general.
