The deeply-rooted Syrian-Mauritanian relations and the need to enhance cooperation in various fields, especially at the parliamentary ones, was the focus of the meeting between Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hammouda Sabbagh and the newly-appointed Mauritanian Ambassador in Damascus Sidi Ould Doumane.
The meeting was held on the occasion of Doumane assuming his duty as an ambassador to his country to Syrian.
Sabbagh underlined the importance of achieving significant progress in parliamentary relations in terms of exchanging experiences, intensifying visits, and cooperating in all joint regional and international forums in a way that benefits both sides.
For his part, the Mauritanian ambassador hailed Syria’s positions and steadfastness, its historical and pivotal role in supporting just Arab causes, mainly the rights of the Palestinian people, affirming the importance of boosting cooperation in different domains.
