Draft Statement on Condemning Maan Massacre in Hama

Geneva (ST)-A morning session of Syria’s official delegation to Geneva 2 and  the UN envoy to Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi was held on Monday during which Syria’s official delegation submitted a draft statement on condemning Maan  massacre in Hama countryside.

The delegation said that this heinous massacre is a new evidence of some countries involvement in the spread of terrorism in Syria, rejection  of any political solution and disregard of the efforts  aiming to make a the Geneva 2 meeting a success.

Syria’s official delegation called on the United Nations,  presented by the envoy Brahimi, to condemn  this massacre and to support confronting terrorism led by some of the region’s countries.

The delegation confirmed that it asserted in the first round that halting violence, combating terrorism and obliging the countries supporting it to stop this policy is the first item that must be approved to begin discussing the political details.
