Iraqi President: The only way to achieve safe, stable and developed future in the region is through establishing peace

The Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid has stressed that the region won’t witness stability unless the ordeal of the Palestinian people ends and the Palestinians restore their legitimate right in establishing their state on their national soil. He stressed that the only way to achieve a safe, stable and developed future in the region is through establishing peace and promoting a sense of mutual understanding among countries.

The Iraqi News Agency quoted the president as saying in a statement during the 6th Baghdad Conference for dialogue on regional connectivity, that “taking effective and concrete steps that would end this suffering and stop the heinous crimes being committed against the Palestinians is the responsibility of the international community.”

He pointed out that the Iraqi policy is based on a fundamental principle where Iraq consistently plays an active role in regional understanding and coexistence, aiding in the creation of environments supportive of dialogue. He said “our region appears to be in utmost need of advancing the principles of constructive and productive dialogue, and our interests, as a region, lies in cooperation to create an integrated regional environment that helps achieve development.
