Representatives of Iraq and Jordan to ICJ: All measures must be taken to protect the Palestinian people and restore their legitimate rights

Iraq called on the International Court of justice to take all measures to protect the Palestinian people, realize their legitimate rights, apply international justice and stop the genocide to which they are being subjected in Gaza Strip.

The representative of Iraq to the International Court of Justice said: “the Palestinian people, who are living in exceptional and difficult circumstances, need serious support to achieve international justice at this extraordinary time, which is a test for all humanity around the world.  He stressed the need to stop the massacres, the siege and the daily detentions to which the Palestinian people are subjected. He affirmed the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination by ending all procedures that prevent them from practicing this right and establishing an independent Palestinian state.

For his part, the representative of Jordan, Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, said that “the Palestinian people are being subjected to an unprecedented genocide in the world as Israel continues its bloody occupation of the Palestinian territories”, calling for an urgent end to the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories and holding Israel accountable for its crimes against the Palestinians and working for the establishment of a Palestinian state with Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital.
