Al-Maliki calls for ending double standards in dealing with the Palestinian cause

The Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Riyad Al-Maliki on Monday called for ending the double standards in dealing with the Palestinian issue, urging the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to support the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.

“It is the time to end the double standards regarding dealing with the Palestinian cause”, Al-Maliki stressed in his speech before the ICJ, which began its public hearings on Monday regarding the legal consequences arising from Israel’s policies and practices in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Al-Quds (Jerusalem), according to WAFA News Agency.

Al-Maliki affirmed that the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination has been denied for more than a century.

“The United Nations affirmed the right of peoples to self-determination, and “Israel” violated these rights through colonialism and apartheid,” he clarified.

“The right to self-determination does not lapse by statute of limitations and is non-negotiable, and the Israeli occupation must end without conditions.”

The Minister of Foreign Affairs said the genocide that the Palestinian people are being subjected to, is the result of decades of impunity for Israel, the occupying entity, urgently calling for putting an end to the occupation’s practices and applying international laws.

Al-Maliki called for supporting the path to peace, stressing that this is the only sustainable way to achieve justice for the Palestinian people.
