Syria wins two silver medals in the 1st UAE International Karate Open- Fujairah 2024

Syria’s Karate team on Friday obtained two silver medals in the 1st UAE International Karate Open KATA / Kumite Fujairah 2024. The tournament was opened on February 16 and will last until February 18.

700 players from 47 countries are taking part in this sport event.

The silver medals went to Rayan Naser in the under 55kg category and Mustafa Masalmeh in the under 67kg category.

Member of the Syrian Arab Karate Federation Suheil Salman said that this event is held for the first time and is considered as a activation step before the World Karate Youth League due to be held in Fujairah between February 22 and 25, 2024.

Salman noted the huge participation in this tournament, particularly by world classified champions, which provided an opportunity for competition to young age categories which are not participating in the World Karate Youth League with the aim of preparing them for future Karate Youth League events.

He pointed out that the Syrian team will participate in the competitions of the U40 kg /U14 of age category on Sunday tomorrow the player Issa Al-Atmeh.
