Polyansky: The fierce aggression against Gaza Strip is behind the current situation in the Middle East
Russian Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dmitry Polyansky confirmed that the fierce Israeli military aggression against the Gaza Strip is the root cause of the current situation of tension in the region.
TASS news agency quoted Polyansky as saying at a UN Security Council session on Yemen yesterday “the root cause of the current situation is the fierce Israeli military operation in Gaza Strip, which sparked a series of reactions throughout the Middle East region,” adding that “an immediate ceasefire will have the effect of restoring stability to the region and the Red Sea region.”
Polyansky continued: The short-sighted actions and practices of the United States and the United Kingdom also put the United Nations mediation in a difficult situation because every strike targeting of Yemeni lands leads to a new spiral of escalation and postpones the prospects of returning things to normal.
American and British forces repeatedly launch raids on Yemeni governorates, killing and injuring scores of people and causing significant material damage.
