China, Venezuela call for an end to the Israeli occupation attacks on Rafah

Beijing, (ST) – The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday called on “Israel” to stop its attacks on the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip as soon as possible. It warned of a serious humanitarian catastrophe if Israeli combat operations against this city continue.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said in a statement published on the ministry’s website that his country opposes and condemns the aggressive acts committed against civilians that violate international law. It called on “Israel” to stop combat operations in Rafah as soon as possible.

The spokesman warned of a more serious humanitarian catastrophe in Rafah if these operations continue.

Venezuela condemns Israel’s criminal plans to invade Rafah

Meanwhile, in Caracas, Venezuela strongly condemned the criminal plans of the Israeli entity to expand the scope of attacks launched by its forces on Gaza Strip, and its attempt to invade the city of Rafah, south of the Strip.

Prensa Latina quoted Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil as saying in a statement yesterday: “This plan, being implemented by the Zionist entity, aims to continue implementing its criminal and expansionist policy in that city, which houses more than 1.4 million displaced Palestinians.”

He warned that these inhumane acts contribute to exacerbating the consequences and deteriorating conditions experienced by the population in Gaza and impede the arrival of humanitarian aid that is indispensable for survival.

The statement again called on the United Nations and the international community to take urgent and decisive decisions to prevent “Israel” from creating another Nakba and continuing its genocidal war against the Palestinian people and their cause.

The statement affirmed Venezuela’s rejection of the policy of displacement, genocide, and apartheid committed against the Palestinian people. It called on “Israel” to respect international law as a guarantee of world peace.

The Venezuelan Foreign Minister had previously announced his country’s support for imposing an oil embargo on the Israeli entity to stop its crimes against the Palestinians in Gaza.
