Iranian Embassy in Damascus holds reception to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran
Yesterday, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus celebrated the 45th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran at the Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad, offered congratulations to the Iranian people and the Iranian leadership, stressing in a speech during the ceremony that the relations between Syria and Iran cannot be separated because they are defending to liberate the land, restore rights, and expel every foreign occupier from their lands.
He pointed out that relations between the two countries were strengthened during the mutual visits of the presidents of the two countries and through bilateral agreements, the fruits of which we will reap during the coming period.
Al-Mikdad explained that the Islamic Revolution in Iran stood by Syria in its struggle against terrorism and for the sake of liberating the occupied Arab lands, including the occupied Syrian Golan. It continues to affirm its continued support for the Syrian people, regardless of the challenges and conspiracies.
Al-Mikdad asserted that Syria is fighting alongside the Palestinian people and is exposed to aggression from the United States of America and the Zionist entity because it stands with truth and justice and with the Palestinian people in their struggle.
For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian expressed his happiness for commemorating the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution during his presence in Damascus, the historical and cultural capital. He stressed that Iranian-Syrian relations are witnessing progress in various fields.
In turn, Iranian Ambassador Hussein Akbari pointed out that the relations between the two countries are historic, and they have a common destiny, stressing that his country will continue to stand by the Syrian government and people and to provide assistance at all levels, especially political and economic.
Akbari pointed out that his country supports Syria’s sovereignty over all its lands and condemns the illegal presence of foreign elements and forces, as well as the Israeli attacks on it, explaining that the priority in Iran’s foreign policy is to strengthen relations with its neighbors, respect their national sovereignty, and provide peace and stability in the region.
Akbari pointed out that the conspiracies carried out by Zionism and the forces of arrogance recently to ignite strife and internal wars in Islamic and Arab countries are aimed at diverting public opinion from the Palestinian issue, as it is the pivotal issue, stressing that the massacres taking place in Gaza are strongly condemned and must be stopped.
In a statement to reporters, the Special Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic, Bouthaina Shaaban, indicated that the celebration of the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution expresses the strength and depth of the relationship between the two countries, a relationship based on principles and foundations and the interest of the two peoples and the two countries.
In a similar statement, Prime Minister Engineer Hussein Arnous affirmed that relations today between Syria and Iran are witnessing a major shift in the economic fields and are being followed up by both sides.
The ceremony was attended by Speaker of the People’s Assembly, Hammouda Sabbagh, Prime Minister, Engineer Hussein Arnous, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, Engineer Hilal Al-Hilal, a number of ministers, members of the People’s Assembly, heads of unions and vocational unions, a number of heads and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited to Syria, and a number of representatives and leaders of Palestinian factions, as well as economic, religious and cultural personalities and journalists.
