American Aggression on the Iraqi Capital

An Iraqi security source revealed the details of the American aggression that targeted the Al-Mashtal and Al-Baladiyat areas, east of the capital, Baghdad.

The source said in a statement to SANA correspondent in Baghdad: “An American drone targeted with a guided missile a car carrying the advisor to the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces Bassem Al-Saadi, known as (Abu Baqir), in the Al-Mashtal residential area, east of Baghdad. The attack led to burning his car and his immediate martyrdom”. A number of civilians were injured as a result of the attack, the source added.

The source went on to say that another drone targeted a headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces in the Baladiyat area, and investigations are still underway about the results of this aggression.

In a phone call with SANA correspondent in Baghdad, Major General Pilot Tahseen Al Khafaji, the head of the Iraqi Security media Cell, affirmed that the new American aggression undermines everything that was agreed upon regarding scheduling the American forces withdrawal from Iraq.

He added: The Joint Operation Command holds Washington responsible for the serious repercussions that will result from this aggression, as it is a clear violation of Iraqi sovereignty and an attempt to drag the region into dangerous repercussions.

For its part, the Iraqi resistance sent a brief appeal to its fighters calling on them to target all of America’s interests and bases in the region, stressing that it has no choice but this option punishing against the killers.

In addition, the entrance to the government Green Zone is now witnessing a mass gathering denouncing the American aggression, trying to penetrate the gates of the area to reach the American embassy, which was surrounded by Iraqi Special Division forces to prevent it from being penetrated.
