Palestinian Foreign Ministry warns of the catastrophic impacts of suspending aid to UNRWA

Occupied Al-Quds- (ST)-

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates called on all countries that suspended their aid to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) to immediately reverse its decision in the interest of millions of Palestinians who benefit from its services.

The Foreign Ministry said in a statement yesterday, reported by the Palestinian Wafa Agency: that It “does not see any justification for such decisions and considers them preconceived political positions, especially after the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, appointed a team to conduct an independent review and make an evaluation on ensuring the neutrality of UNRWA.”

The Foreign Ministry warned that countries’ adherence to the decision to suspend aid to UNRWA would have disastrous effects on its ability to provide services to the Palestinians and would put their lives at risk, especially in Gaza Strip.
