Palestinian Foreign Ministry warns of new Israeli settlement plan to establish 7,000 settlement units in the West Bank

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has warned of a new settlement scheme by the Israeli occupation to establish 7,000 settlement units in the West Bank, stressing that the crime of settlement expansion is the other side of the genocidal war committed by the occupation against the Palestinian people.

The Foreign Ministry said in a statement today, quoted by WAFA agency, “this scheme is a serious and provocative escalation and a blatant challenge to the international community, which sees and hears about the massacres of the occupation forces and the colonialist settlers ‘ daily attacks against the Palestinians. It is also part of the crime of deepening settlements and annexation plans in the West Bank aimed at undermining the chances of establishing an independent Palestinian state.

The Ministry reiterated its call on the international community to put pressure on the occupation authorities and oblige them to comply with the resolutions of international legitimacy because the failure to implement international law encourages them to continue with their crimes, pointing out that all settlement operations, whether the establishment of settlements or the expansion od settlements, the seizure of land or the displacement of Palestinians are illegal, rejected and condemned.
