The Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the ambassador of the Israeli occupation entity yesterday in protest against the raids carried out by the occupation forces on the offices of the Belgian Development Agency in Gaza Strip during its ongoing barbaric aggression which started last October on the Strip.
AFP quoted Belgian Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib as saying on X-platform: she summoned the ambassador of the Israeli entity in protest against the Israeli raid, and added: “the agency’s offices (Enabel) have been completely destroyed and this is totally unacceptable.”
Development Agency Director Jean Van Wetter said via the X platform: “All of us at Enabel are shocked as a government agency working for the common good within the framework of international humanitarian law “… We cannot accept this,” he said, posting two photos, one of the buildings where the agency’s offices were located before the bombing, and the other of a pile of rubble.
According to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) report published yesterday, 37,379 buildings, equivalent to 18% of all buildings in the Gaza Strip, have been damaged or destroyed by Israel’s aggression since last October, and since then satellite data indicated that the destruction has more than doubled.
According to Rami Al-Azza, co-writer of the report, “new data indicate that more than fifty percent of buildings in Gaza are damaged or destroyed.
