New York, (ST) – Iran’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saied Iravani affirmed that the measures taken by the United States in Syria and Iraq are illegal and violate international laws and the United Nations Charter.
Iravani said in a letter to the President of the UN Security Council: “The United States makes many allegations and baseless accusations about paramilitary groups affiliated with the Iranian armed forces being involved in actions against American individuals and facilities in Iraq and Syria.” He stressed that Iran categorically rejects such claims and allegations.
Iran’s permanent representative to the United Nations asked the rotating president of the Security Council to present the Iranian responses to these American allegations to the members of the Council and formally approve them.
